In a significant increase from our 2016 study, 175 (0.0035%) of applications resulted in interview. We analysed the successors ‘cover letter behaviour’
98% – No cover letter

0.5% - Cover letter
We anonymously interviewed 500 recruiters and 97% admitted to not reading cover letters and 3% lied. 80% went as far to say that if a cover letter were attached they would automatically reject the candidate. This conveniently corroborated our application study
