"I applied for my dream job in December 2014. The company understandably took 2 years to respond to my application. The lady was very apologetic when she called to invite me to interview, explaining the sheer lorry load of applications they received, and how frightfully busy the hiring manager had been.
6 months later I attended the interview. It was the best competency based interview of my life. I was made to feel at ease and was told I would hear from them shortly. Don't call us, we'll call you and all that jazz.
It has now been a year since my interview. Taking into account the timeframe to respond to my application maybe a year after interview isn’t so long?
Should I throw in the towel and give up on my dream job, or should I still hold out hope? I don’t want to be rude and pressurise them into a decision, but I would like some closure.
Deep down I think I have got the job. Have you got any advice?
Taking the circumstances into account, we think you shouldn’t throw your dream in the bin just yet! We recommend you give it at least another year before giving up hope.
